Professional Biography
L. Alexis Whitley is an Associate Attorney at Greenspoon Marder LLP, a national firm, where she practices tax, corporate, securities, and cannabis law. Alexis represents both individual and entity clients in federal and state tax controversy matters, including audits, appeals, collections, and court proceedings. In her practice, Alexis brings valuable accounting expertise, which allows her to analyze and understand complex accounting and tax issues for her clients. Beyond tax matters, Alexis advises clients on general corporate law matters, securities offerings, and planning and regulatory considerations for cannabis clients. Alexis is also an avid writer and maintains her commitment to publishing articles on relevant and important legal topics, both through Greenspoon Marder and law reviews.
As an Adjunct Professor at Sturm College of Law, Alexis teaches Accounting for Lawyers. Previously, Alexis graduated from Sturm College of Law with both her J.D. and her LL.M. in taxation. During her time at Denver Law, Alexis participated in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, The Race to the Bottom corporate law blog, and was awarded the Outstanding Taxation Graduate Award and Colorado Bar Association Taxation Section Scholarship.
In her free time, Alexis enjoys all the perks of the Colorado outdoors, reading, crafting, chai tea, and spending time with her friends.
