Professional Biography
Katie Brown is an adjunct professor of Employment Law Survey. Katie began her legal career as a Legal Fellow in the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Denver City Attorney’s Office before spending nearly six years as an associate in the Employment Law Group at Davis Graham.
Katie’s practice focuses on employment counseling and litigation. She counsels clients on the full range of employment issues, including implementing employment policies, complying with wage and hour and other workplace laws, drafting and interpreting restrictive covenants, managing independent contractor and other contingent workforce matters, leading workplace investigations, and navigating accommodation, performance management, and separation issues. Katie’s litigation practice primarily involves prosecuting and defending non-competition and trade secret matters, as well as defending cases alleging wage and hour violations and discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Katie actively participates in Colorado’s professional labor and employment law organizations and is dedicated to serving the greater Denver community at large. She serves as an Executive Council Member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and as a member of the DU Sturm College of Law Workplace Law Advisory Board. She also is a member of different non-profit boards, including the Denver Urban Debate League and the Colorado Village Collaborative.
