Professional Biography

John Bernetich teaches public lands law. John is an environmental, energy and commercial litigation attorney. He represents clients in litigation and regulatory matters, with a focus on energy, public lands, ski areas, air pollution, environmental assessments, and commercial contract disputes. He specializes in advising and representing companies and individuals that are regulated by federal environmental and land management agencies. John has represented clients in all levels of federal courts as well as state courts and federal agencies.

 John was a law clerk to Judge Peter W. Hall of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He lives in Golden with his wife and two daughters and loves to mountain bike and ski on our public lands.
