Professional Biography

I’m Damian J. Arguello, and I advocate for insurance consumers.  I founded the Colorado Insurance Law Center to dedicate nearly three decades of unique insurance experience to benefit commercial and individual policyholders.

I am a Colorado native from a blue-collar family. My parents struggled out of poverty to reach the working class and taught my siblings and me the value of hard work. I worked three jobs and applied for every scholarship I could to put myself through college. I worked full-time while I went to law school.

After law school, I practiced at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP, one of Colorado’s oldest and most respected law firms, ultimately advancing to partner and serving as the firm’s resident insurance expert. At DGS, I was mentored by some of the best attorneys in the Rocky Mountain West and represented policyholders of all sizes. After that, I practiced at Levin Sitcoff PC, an insurance coverage litigation firm.

I care about my community and have served as a board member for several nonprofit organizations whose missions focus on providing educational opportunities. Currently, I’m on the board of directors of the Denver Urban Debate League, whose mission is to improve educational and life outcomes for disadvantaged students by providing opportunities to learn and achieve through competitive debate.

In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors with my family, reading historical accounts of perseverance through adversity, and watching movies. I’m also a big-time hockey fan (Go Avs!).
