New ACLU of Colorado Executive Director Olivia Mendoza

The Sturm College of Law proudly recognizes alumna Olivia Mendoza, JD'19, who has been named the new executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Colorado. Mendoza, who received the DU Law Stars Bruce B. Johnson Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2023, officially assumed her role on February 9.

"My professional journey has always reflected who I am and what I stand for, grounded in the struggles and perseverance of my family and community," said Mendoza in a LinkedIn post. Prior to the ACLU, Mendoza served as the director of litigation and policy at the National Redistricting Foundation, leading national anti-gerrymandering efforts and defending the voting rights of historically marginalized communities. She is also a current adjunct faculty member at the Sturm College of Law, teaching Election Law this semester.
