Professional Biography
Emily Staker is an NFL agent and practicing attorney with almost a decade of experience representing professional football players. She began her career in athlete representation while attending the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, working under veteran agent Craig Domann at 360 Sports, LLC. Today, she is part of the NFL division at Wasserman, one of the most prominent agencies in the industry.
At Wasserman, Emily contributes to a team that has negotiated over $3 billion in NFL player contracts and represented more than 120 athletes selected in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. Wasserman’s NFL group has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best in the business, earning Sports Business Journal’s "Best Talent Representation of the Year" award in 2020, 2022, and 2023. Emily’s practice focuses on contract negotiation, pre-draft advising, personal brand development, and long-term client strategy. Her work bridges legal acumen and business instinct, helping athletes maximize both their on-field earnings and off-field opportunities.
In addition to her work as an agent, Emily serves as Chief Legal Advisor for FLX Sports, a technology company revolutionizing the use of artificial intelligence in the college sports arena. Her role includes overseeing compliance, product development, and strategic partnerships to ensure FLX remains at the forefront of ethical and effective innovation in sports tech.
Emily is also a managing partner at Olson Legacy Law, a Seattle-based law firm focusing on high-conflict family law litigation, complex financial disputes, and legacy planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. Her legal practice is marked by fierce advocacy, strategic negotiation, and deep client relationships.
As an adjunct professor at Denver Law, Emily teaches sports law with a focus on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights. Drawing from her direct experience in professional sports representation, she guides students through the practical, legal, and ethical dimensions of athlete advocacy. Her teaching emphasizes contract negotiation, NCAA and professional compliance, and the evolving landscape of athlete rights in the digital era.
Emily is a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is licensed to practice law and remains actively involved in the sports law community, frequently mentoring students and speaking on panels about NIL, athlete empowerment, and the future of sports agency.
