The 2015 Fellowship Program application process will open soon. Please check back again. Thank you.
Overview and Selection Criteria
One Denver Law JD student will be selected, through a competitive process, to work in the legal department of Molson Coors Brewing Company (MCBC). The Geocaris Fellow will be expected to work for an eight week period (30 hours per week maximum) during summer 2015. The Fellow will receive an hourly rate of $24.00 per hour with a maximum payment not to exceed $5,760 from the Corporate & Commercial Law Program. No academic credit will be offered for the Fellowship.
There is one opportunity available this year for current who are enrolled in the Corporate/Commercial Law Program. If you are not sure if you fit these criteria, please contact Molly Ryan at 303-871-6299 or email@example.com. All candidates must have a strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in a corporate-transactional law practice.
Fellowship Job Description
Generally, the Fellowship is intended to expose a student to the culture of an in-house legal department and to enable the Fellow to better understand the unique needs and circumstances of corporate clients. As part of the Fellowship, the host site will, as best it can, integrate the Fellow into all aspects of the legal department. This will include an appropriate cross section of work assignments and, where appropriate, participation in departmental meetings and activities. The host site will appoint a supervisory attorney to the Fellow, who will be responsible for coordinating assignments and ensuring adequate feedback.
With Molson Coors Brewing Company (MCBC), the selected Fellow will work with various members of MCBC’s in-house legal department on numerous aspects of the company’s business. In particular, the Fellow will gain exposure to securities law issues for the NYSE-listed company and other transactional matters for its international business activities. As part of the position, the Fellow will have interaction with business representatives of MCBC as well as a variety of local, national and international lawyers that work with the company.
