Professional Biography

Alice Hansen is a founder, associate director, and board member of the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project (RMVAP). Before founding the RMVAP, Alice served as a student attorney with the Veterans Advocacy Project at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and earned her JD with a focus on public interest law. Following graduation, she was a law clerk with the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims before returning to work for the RMVAP.

Prior to law school, Alice worked in a variety of capacities for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, where she gained a knowledge of and a passion for client-centered advocacy in a non-profit setting. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado in Ethnomusicology, and continues to perform as a professional trumpet player across Colorado. Growing up in Montana, Alice experienced the lack of legal resources available in rural areas, and she is passionate about increasing this access as an advocate for her clients.
