Qualified Immunity: A Judicial Assault on Police Accountability

Why is the judicially created doctrine of qualified immunity dangerous to our communities? Join FedSoc and Clark Neily, noted litigator (co-counsel in DC v. Heller) and Cato Institute scholar. Neily will explain why police are often held to a lower standard than ordinary citizens who use force, and offer some ways to end the practice.

Law for Black Lives is a femme-led national network of lawyers and legal workers who are committed to forming legal infrastructure for movement organizations and cultivating a community of legal advocates trained in movement lawyering.

Future Visions in Space Law and Policy

The Space Law Society is proud to announce the biggest space law event of the year – Future Visions in Space Law and Policy. The event will be held on February 26th, from 5 – 7 P.M. To begin, there will be an hour-long mixer between panelists, aerospace-sector officials, and students (hors d’oeuvre will be provided). We will then enjoy a panel discussion of various topics in space law and space policy from predominate legal and policy members of the Colorado area. Panel members will include Skip Smith (Sherman and Howard), Richard Zelenka (Critical Path IP Law), Steve Eisenhart (The Space Foundation), Maria-Vittoria Carminati (head of the ABA space law committee), and an attorney for Lockheed Martin. This event co-sponsored by Lockheed Martin and the Career Development Office, and is available for CPD credit!
