A reception will follow in the Law Forum.
The American Antiquities Act of 1906 allows presidents to protect historic landmarks, structures, and objects of historic and scientific interest through the creation of national monuments. This year’s Carver Colloquium will debate the authority of a sitting president to diminish or abolish national monuments created by a past president. The event will feature James Rasband, Hugh W. Colton Professor of Law at Brigham Young University, and Mark Squillace, Professor of Law at the University of Colorado Law School.
