1st Amendment and the Clash with Hate Speech, Crime, and Antisemitism

Join Professor Chen, Scott Levin with the Anti Defamation League, and Dan Recht with the ACLU Colorado for a riveting panel discussion on the state of the law of free speech and expression, and where the line is drawn in our modern society. This event will be on April 18, 2019 in Room 155 from noon till 1:00pm. The discussion will involve policy reasons for and against limiting and regulating speech as it relates to a rise in modern incidents of hate speech, hate crime, and antisemitism that are approaching a record high. The different perspectives will allow for a holistic and across the board approach to why free speech is important, but the dangerous paths that can be drawn when speech goes untamed and unlimited. Pizza lunch will be provided!
