Military Law and Veterans Advocacy |
This class is designed to provide an overview of the history and application of military law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Administrative Separation proceedings, and the various types of Courts Martial. The course will also focus on veterans law (post-service), with practical application in the form of military discharge upgrades and veteran's benefits claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs. Successful completion of the final project satisfies the Upper-Level Writing requirement. Students registered for this course qualify for the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project (RMVAP) fieldwork externship. Completion of this course, or concurrent enrollment, is a prerequisite to participate in the program.
