Civil Rights Lawyering will serve a practical crash course into the scope of plaintiff-side civil rights legal practice. Each class will focus on a different substantive practice area while also building on practical skills week to week. We will look to the news media to apply what we are learning to real world situations as they unfold. Students should expect to walk away with an understanding of the basic legal doctrine underpinning a variety of civil rights laws alongside real world applications to better prepare them for a future career in civil rights law.
