Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Incident Response Practicum |

Data breaches regularly headline our newspapers. They affect every industry, they affect public and private companies both large and small, government agencies and individuals. This course examines legal challenges stemming from a rapidly evolving cyber-threat environment. This course will explore applicable U.S. state and federal law and certain international laws governing privacy and cybersecurity, practical challenges and approaches to incident response planning, and will delve into hot topics in cyber liability litigation. The course will consider legal questions within the context of broader debates over issues such as the role of governmental and non-governmental actors, evolving understandings of privacy, and cross-border challenges.
