Advanced Legal Research | 47xx

This course will prepare students to research thoroughly and efficiently at the level expected of recent graduates. The course will use a problem-based approach to simulate the type of work performed by new associates. Students will learn methods and strategies to tackle research problems effectively and gain hands-on experience researching state and federal judicial (case law), legislative (statutory), and executive (administrative) legal materials. The class is geared toward students with some research experience that want to improve their research and writing skills before entering practice. Students will complete research projects as well as create the corresponding work product throughout the semester. Laptops are required for class.
