Regulating Cannabis | L47xx
The regulation of cannabis involves legal changes from every level and branch of government. This course explores how these laws are being changed through ballot initiatives, legislative action, and administrative rulemaking. Through the lens of cannabis regulation, students will learn about the legislative process, Colorado's working group approach to policy making, reform via direct democracy (ballot initiatives), and drafting constitutional amendments, statutes, and administrative rules. The course will be taught in a collaborative style that will include guest lecturers, mock working group and legislative committee hearings, and collaborative drafting sessions.
