Private Equity Seminar | L4414
This seminar and upper level writing course will introduce students to the concept of private equity, or ways in which an entity can raise capital other than through a traditional initial public offering. The course will provide students with the necessary background to understand how entities conduct exempt offerings of equity and debt securities to fund their operations and growth. Students will learn about the different parties that may participate in private equity including the issuer, venture capitalists, and other types of investors. Students will be introduced to a variety of exemptions from registration and the documents to effect such capital raising efforts.
