First-Year and Advanced Standing Students

The University of Denver Sturm College of Law admits first-year and advanced standing students for matriculation in the fall semester.

Our primary form of contact is email. Emails will be sent when your application is received by our office, when your application is incomplete, when your application is completed and ready for review and for your admissions decision. You will also be provided with information to check your application status online.

We follow a rolling admission procedure, meaning we have no official deadline and will review and admit applicants as applications are received. While there is no official deadline, you are strongly encouraged to have a completed application submitted by March 1. We do not offer an early action admission program.

All first-year students are automatically considered for merit scholarships at the time of admission. If you are awarded a scholarship, the offer will be included in your admission email. Scholarship funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, so, we recommend applying early, to ensure funds are still available at the time your application is reviewed.

All application requirements (first-year JD requirements, Advanced Standing requirements) must be met before your application will be reviewed. Once your application file is complete, it typically takes 6-8 weeks to receive a decision from the Faculty Admissions Committee.
