Professional Biography

Patty Powell received her B.A. from Oberlin College and her J.D. from the Sturm College of Law. She practiced law for 12 years in the Denver area, working as a litigator in both the public and private sectors, including the Colorado Attorney General's Office, the Denver District Attorney's Office and a large corporate law firm. After leaving the active practice of law, Patty served as Director of Career Services and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at DU Law, as well as Assistant Dean of Career Development at the University of Colorado Law School. After spending four years consulting in the area of diversity and inclusiveness in the legal profession, Patty returned to Denver Law, where she served as Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Assistant Professor of the Practice and Director of the Academic Achievement Program.
