Career Development Office
Kiki Council works as a part-time career coach in the Career Development Office at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. As an active member of the Colorado legal community—including the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, the Sam Cary Bar Association (Colorado’s Black and African American bar association), the Colorado LGBT Bar Association, and Colorado Attorneys Against Police Violence—Kiki leverages and uses her network to connect both law students and recent graduates with diverse and interesting employment opportunities. In addition to her extensive professional network, Kiki has work experience in nearly every legal employment sector - from a judicial clerkship, to big law, to boutique law, and now, public interest. Kiki uses her familiarity and insights from these various sectors to assist students with navigating potential legal career paths.
Kiki currently works full-time advising and representing reproductive rights, health, and justice organizations as Staff Attorney at The Forefront Project. Before joining The Forefront Project, Kiki practiced labor and employment defense litigation at Campbell Litigation, P.C. in Denver. She also worked in the Appellate and Commercial Litigation practice group at Holland & Hart LLP. Kiki obtained her juris doctor from the University of Colorado Law School and clerked for the Honorable Allison Eid on the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. While in law school, Kiki served as the Lead Student Note Editor for the Colorado Technology and Law Journal and participated in mock trial. Kiki has also honed a pro bono practice focused on judicial bypass hearings for minors seeking abortion care in Colorado. In 2020, Kiki was honored to receive the Attorney of the Year award from the Colorado LGBT Bar Association for her efforts in the racial justice movement.
