Very enthusiastic professor. Spends the time necessary and not a minute less or more discussing relevant and interesting material.  The course includes cutting edge educational technology. It was a pleasure taking this class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

More contact with Professor Thomas would have been nice...there were many times that I felt disconnected and that my classmates and myself were floating along with each other, basically on our own. I would also appreciate having our ongoing grades posted on Blackboard, as it is stressful to be at the end of the semester with no idea of our progress or academic standing to-date.  I found the text to be dry, confusing at times (too many themes to digest) and most chapters fairly laborious. It would have been helpful for me if additional "lecture" notes would have provided with each chapter, in efforts to put a better understanding upon the text reading materials. There were quite a few power point presentations - these were very beneficial to me. The "live" classroom experience was a good experience - should be used more. The wiki group site was very frustrating for me to work with...the tutorial is limited in scope, the edit and processing capabilities of the site are significantly limited, and I would like to see an audio communication tool added to the groupware to allow the team to communicate with one another, as in the "live" classroom forum. It is difficult, as on-line students, to work collaboratively with each other when students are residing all over the country. This communication feature would allow a virtual "meeting place" for the team members to "meet" to work on projects.

What I appreciated was the level of organization that the professor had when it came to the material. It was welcomed when compared to some of my other classes.

Prof. Thomson showed a keen interest in this subject and his students. He is very organized and makes effort to include realistic application and understanding of the subject matter. He is a great asset to the MSLA faculty because he provides an insiders perspective on whats students should expect working in a legal environment and in return what lawyers will expect from those working for them.   Knowledge Management is a facinating subject matter -- one that a legal administrator certainly will be exposed to. The course provides a basis for future administrators to at a minimum consider incorporating knowledge management ideas and strategies into the firms they will administer.
