Positive and Negative comments about the professor:Positive and negative comments about the course materials:
Very well prepared. Best LP prof by far.   Book is bad. But it does not really matter.

great! very thorough, prepared and really enthusiastic about class. very enjoyable class.  lots of work - should be worth more credit hours

Professor Thomson is one of the best professors I have ever had, and LP, though a ton of work, was one of the best educational experiences I've had because of Professor Thomson.
The Best, period  Wellford's examples (in the Appendix) are much more useful than the chapters themselves. Perhaps a book of more such models would be a good replacement.

Professor Thomson is the most dedicated professors I've encountered so far. The time he takes to ensure that we understand the material and progress in the necessary legal skills has been invaluable. You always know you can go to his office and be met with warmth and understanding.
Excellent professor. Very well prepared, organized, caters to all learning styles and is truly dedicated to teaching and preparing young lawyers. Professor takes a personal interest in all aspects of the class and creates an interesting and fun learning experience.   Most valuable class. Everything taught in this class will be applicable to laywering. Additionally, Professor Thomson brought in other helpful advice on being a lawyer in general as well as how to live life well. Very good class.
Extremely professional, prepared, and respectful of the students and material. Always compassionate and thoughtful. Allows students to pursue a variety of approaches in resolution of legal problems, which can be difficult for students looking for exactly the right or wrong way to do things.   A class you will surely appreciate more down the road when you are no longer neck deep in the work.
Professor Thomson is without a doubt the best professor I had my first year of law school. He is well organized, enthusiastic, caring, professional, motivating, inspirational, and influential. I have the learned the most valuable information in this class and have enjoyed every bit of it.   I have nothing negative to say about this course or its material.

Mr. Thomson is perhaps the most organized instructor that I have ever had. Although this is very beneficial in the majority of circumstances, it often diminished spontaneity and enthusiasm.   Although the work completed in the course as opposed to other LP courses was beneficial, it frustrated our perception of the class.
Prof. Thomson is an excellent professor, very well organized for each class meeting. Powerpoints were great. He is very delicated to his class. I had a great experience with the oral presentation.
Profesor Thomson ROCKS. I don't think I would have put in near the effort for another professor.
Professor Thomson is absolutely a mentor and role model that I can only hope to pproach as I advance throughout the legal profession.  The materials were demanding, however, they were on point and built the necessary foundation to be successful.
Having gone to the Cherry Creek school district K-12 and then CU Molecular Biology for undergrad, I have been very fortunate to have has some pretty amazing educators in my past. I currently rank Professor Thomson in the top five best educators that I have learned from. The other members of that class are; David Walba, Chemistry Professor at CU, Susan Roberts, History Teacher at Cherrry Creek (and a former Playboy Playmate), and Deborah Schmidt 5th grade teacher at Greenwood Village. David is fairly new to teaching and is still quite passionate; a trait that I hope he can hold on to for many more years.   I would recommend reading more actual Memo's and Briefs then Welford. Also, I would recommend daily in class quizes.
