On June 29, 2007, RMLUI along with COPAN, hosted the Planning Active Living (PLACE) Training. This was an in-depth, skill-building session for public health professionals and advocates on land use planning and community design. This training addressed:

  • the relationship between public health and active community environments
  • the history of land use planning and public health
  • Smart Growth principles for active communities
  • key elements of the community planning process
  • the five strategic points of intervention and collaboration between planning and public health

RMLUI co-sponsored The Colorado Blue Ribbon Panel on Housing, a team of leaders and experts soliciting feedback from Colorado’s many region’s and diverse stake-holders to determine how best to meet housing needs of Colorado’s communities. RMLUI President, Tom Ragonetti, served as co-chair. The Panel was also co-sponsored by the Colorado Division of Housing and the University of Denver.
