Federico Cheever is a Professor of Law at Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. He received his B.A./M.A. in 1981 from Stanford
University and his J.D. in 1986 from UCLA School of Law. Prof. Cheever
was a Judicial Clerk for Hon. Harry Pregerson of the U.S. Court of
Appeals (9th Circuit), an associate attorney for the Sierra Club Legal
Defense Fund, a research fellow at the Natural Resources Law Center,
University of Colorado School of Law, and an associate at the Denver law
firm of Faegre & Benson LLP. Prof. Cheever has represented environmental
groups in cases under the Endangered Species Act, the National Forest
Management Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Wilderness
Act, and a number of other environmental laws. Prof. Cheever teaches
Environmental Law, Hazardous Substance Law, Property, Federal Wildlife
Law, Public Lands, and seminars in National Forest Management Law and
Land Trusts and Conservation Easements.
