ATTENTION MAY 2008 GRADUATES

Please  refer to the following e-mail for everything you will need to know about the upcoming Commencement Ceremony:

Date, Place, Time: Saturday, May  17th at 10:00 a.m. in Magness Arena in the Ritchie Center  

·       Graduates please arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. in the gym inside the Ritchie center.

·       Doors will open for friends and family at 9:00 a.m. 

When you arrive:

·       You should have your robe with you and on when you arrive but please leave your hood off.

·       There is a pinning ceremony at the beginning of commencement.  You will receive your pin when you check in at the Registrar’s table in the gym.  You will also receive your name card at that time.

·       You will be lined up in alphabetical order.  Each row of students will have a staff Marshall to lead you in the arena and answer any questions you may have.

·       Each graduate will be given a program as they enter the arena during the processional.    

Tickets: Are not required for any guests attending the ceremony.  Feel free to invite your entire family.

Parking: The Law school (L) Lot and all the General Parking (GP) Lots will be open and free for you and your guests.  Please see the parking map for General Lot information https://www.parking.du.edu/inf/docs/ParkingMap070820.pdf.  Additional ADA Parking will be available on the North side of the Ritchie Center.  If you have any additional questions with regard to mobility impaired guests, please contact Lauri Mlinar at lmlinar@law.du.edu.

Accessible seating: All guests needing accessible seating should enter the doors on the north side of the Ritchie Center (off of Buchtel).  They will be escorted to the floor of the arena in front of the sign language interpreters.  Please contact Lauri Mlinar for additional information at lmlinar@law.du.edu.    

Robes: You may pick up robes on the DAY BEFORE graduation in room #412 from noon to 6:00 PM.  You must wear regalia (robe and cap) and need to contact Diane at Willsey at dphillip@ecentral.com  IMMEDIATELY if you have not rented your regalia. 

Following the Ceremony:

·       The ceremony usually lasts around two hours.

·       There will be a reception following the ceremony back at the law school building.

·       You will need to return your cap and gown at the law school following the ceremony/reception.  You will be able to keep your tassel.

Who Missed the Vendor Site Visits

Graduation vendors (Announcements, Class rings, Fingerprinting, Robe rental and Composites) were be at the law school on January 22 – 24 and March 5.  Contact information for later orders is listed below.

CB Announcements – Order your graduation announcements.  View their website at http://www.cbgrad.com/.  

Class Rings – Jostens will be on campus displaying class rings that you can order.  View their website at www.jostens.com.

Fingerprinting – Please contact your local law enforcement office.

Willsie Co. Robe Rental – Robe rental is mandatory to walk in the commencement ceremony.  The cost is $40.  A late charge will be applied if you did not rent as of March 5.  Contact Diane Phillips at dphillip@ecentral.com.
