BUILDING GREEN
The DU Law building is the first in the nation to conform to the U.S.
Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environment
Design certification system. Some of the facility’s green features
include:
- An energy conservation system that uses 40 percent less total
energy than a comparable conventional building
- Building materials with a high percentage of post-consumer recycled
components
- Exterior lighting that does not pollute the night sky
- Infrared sensors on faucets and other water-efficient fixtures
that can reduce water use by as much as 39 percent
- An advanced ventilation system that maintains superior indoor
air quality
- Recharging stations for electric vehicles
