International Careers

Navigating the waters of achieving a career in international law can be challenging. Here are some tips and resources for safe passage to exciting employment opportunities:

1. Knowledge of a foreign language is an asset for many positions in international law and a requirement for many others. To optimize opportunities in this field, consider becoming fluent in a foreign language with focus on legal terminology, as well as cultural communication. The Westminster Law Library provides legal dictionaries in a number of languages, including Spanish, French, German, Russian, and Chinese. The Sturm College of Law offers courses in Lawyering in Spanish and in Russian. Students may access the Rosetta Stone language programs online, through the University of Denver Penrose Library System.
