The Renewable Energy Reader and this site are intended to be a concise and accessible sources for U.S. renewable energy law. Each chapter of the Reader provides historical background as well as illustrations and technological charts to give readers context for better understanding renewable energy sources and related legal issues. Each chapter also includes excerpts from some of the most prominent primary and secondary legal sources highlighting current and potential legal challenges to the advancement of renewable resources.
The goal of this book and site is not to convert anyone into a renewable energy believer. The numbers speak for themselves as you will see in the pages and resources that follow. Instead, we hope you
will find a user-friendly reference that provides an overview of the significant legal implications— both positive and negative— of renewable energy development.
