  • Labor and Employment Law Section of the ABA CLE Conference
    The ABA is the largest association of attorneys in the United States, and has a section known as the Section of Labor and Employment Law. The Section’s 2nd Annual CLE Conference is September 10-13, 2008 in Denver, Colorado. The conference presents more than 50 workshops over those three days, with a special session on Saturday, September 13th from 9:00 – 2:15 called the “Law Student Track.”

  • Speaker: Michael Josserand
    Regional Director of the NLRB, supervises the handling of NLRB cases arising in CO, WY, UT, and parts of ID, MT, and NE. The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act, including investigation and remedy of unfair labor practices. Please see pictures of the event.

    Works as Associate General Counsel for Assurity Financial Sercies, LLC, a mortgage bank employing employees in 21 different states.

  • 2nd Annual Colloquium on Labor and Employment Law
  • Speaker: Ms. Lynn Feiger
    Sexual Harassment in Employment Law
    Event Notes: Ms. Feiger has been practicing employment law for almost three decades. She obtained the first sexual harassment jury verdict in the country and has successfully brought numerous class actions. She has helped formulate the current state of employment law in the region and in the country. Numerous attorneys and students turned out to listen and engage in conversation.   • Will There Be A Superbowl XLVI? Labor Law, the NFL and the CBA
    On April 25, 2011 the ELA hosted a panel of local sports law attorneys, sports agents, trial attorney from the NLRB and general counsel from the Denver Broncos to discuss and answer questions about the NFL lockout, decertification of the NFLPA, and the new 2011 CBA that was being negotiated.
  • Speaker: Balt Baca
    Mr. Baca, a Denver Law grad, has over 30 years of unique and important experience as an attorney in Washington, D.C., and since 2000 has served as a Senior Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices. He was an attorney in the prosecution of Zacarias Moussaoui. Mr. Baca has also served as counsel for the U.S. Department of the Interior and the E.E.O.C.
  • International Journalist Panel
    On August, 23 2011 the ELA hosted 7 journalists from South and Southeast Asian nations traveling around the U.S. learning about religious diversity, especially U.S.-Muslim issues. The journalists came to the university for a special meeting with Professor Raghunath to learn about Title VII reasonable accommodation / undue hardship in the workplace.
