Denver Law Partnership with Community Day

Denver Law Partnership with Community Day (DPCD) is an organization that gives law students an opportunity to give back to their community. DPCD, for the main fall event, will be teaming with Hope Communities, a nonprofit that provides affordable housing to low-income families. Denver Law students will participate in Hope’s Hands for Hope Day, September 22, 2012. Students will complete service projects to improve the health and wholeness of the Denver community and raise awareness about the issues facing low-income neighborhoods and schools.

In the spring, DPCD is planning a new program, Spring Training for Youth and Legal Education (STYLE), for high school students interested in the legal profession. Our target students are those who would not normally have access to the legal community because of their social economic background. STYLE will provide students with real world legal experience by participating in a mock trial and team building taught by practicing attorneys and Denver Law students on a 1 day Saturday event. Specific date is TBD.
