Diversity Advocates (DA)The Diversity Advocates committee plans and implements a week-long event for the College of Law students and the community focusing on issues of diversity, privilege, and oppression. In the past two years, Diversity Awareness Week has been a great success with a program full of speakers, film showings, discussion sessions and debates. Diversity Awareness Week takes place during the Spring Semester with planning beginning in the Fall. In addition, the committee is open to broadening its service to the College of Law community by supporting and co-sponsoring other programs and events addressing the many issues of diversity. Each year, we look to assess the issues and needs of our community and respond to those needs through intentional programming efforts. We are open to anyone looking to discuss and address the complicated issues related with diversity, not only in relation to us as students, but also how in relation to our professional lives as lawyers.
