Open Officer Positions for the 2008-09 Academic Year (Elections Held in Fall 2008)
- Vice-President(s) of Events (1 or 2)
Shall be the Chair of the Events Committee (a standing committee). Shall serve as the liaison between the Events Committee and the Executive Board. Shall coordinate with Vice-President of Publicity to publicize all events arranged by the events committee. In the absence of the President or Co-Presidents, shall conduct B.L.S. meetings along with the Vice-President of Speakers and act as the Chair.
Some of the events the Events Committee is responsible for planning include (not limited to): BLS Fall Banquet, Halloween Bash, Poker Fundraiser, Golf.
This job is labor intensive when it comes to planning events.
- Vice-President(s) of Speakers (1 or 2)
Shall serve as the liaison between the Executive Board and all speakers. Responsible for arranging for speakers and coordinating general meetings and speaker meetings (including reserving rooms, parking permits, arranging lunch, etc.). Shall be the Chair of the Speaker Committee if one is established, and serve as the liaison between the Executive Board and the Speaker Committee. Shall coordinate with Vice-President of Publicity to publicize all speaker events. In the absence of the President or Co-Presidents, shall conduct B.L.S. meetings along with the Vice-President of Events and act as the Chair.
Events Committee (2008-2009)
The Events Committee is a standing committee that accepts willing and able members! Events committee members are responsible for working with the Vice President(s) of Events in coordinating all events the BLS puts on each year, not limited to the Fall Banquet, Halloween Bash, Texas Hold’Em Tournament, Golf Clinic(s), and Westminister Nights and Derby Days.
