Students eligible for election must have attained a grade record ranking in the upper 10 percent of their class. St. Ives, long a patron of lawyers throughout the world, attained a high position in the courts of the church, which were considered the most advances in Europe. He was born in northern France in 1253, the son of a noble family. During his university and seminary studies, he endeared himself to fellow students by his charity. Ordained a priest in 1284, st. Ives rose to be a deputy and judge and served as Administrator of Justice. St. Ives died in 1303 and was canonized later by Pope Clement VI.
Please note that The Order of St. Ives award is not an official class ranking.
