Environmental and Natural Resources Graduate Program Scholarships Announced

Denver – Two important scholarships associated with the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Environmental and Natural Resources Law & Policy Graduate Program have been announced.

Kathleen E. Marks, who directs the energy program at the National Conference of State Legislatures, has been awarded the 2008 Col. Jan Laitos Scholarship. Ms. Marks is pursuing a Masters in Resources Law Studies.

Gabriela Rodrigues, a licensed attorney in Brazil, has been awarded the 2008 Marilyn G. Alkire Scholarship. Ms. Rodrigues is pursuing an LL.M. degree in Environmental and Natural Rseources Law & Policy.

“Ms. Marks and Ms. Rodrigues are excellent recipients of these two prestigious scholarships,” Don C. Smith, director of the program, said. “Both Kathleen and Gabriela respectively will make major contributions to the careful development of natural resources bearing in mind the need to protect the environment for future generations. We are delighted to have students of their caliber and wide-ranging experience in our program.”

Each autumn the winners of the Marilyn G. Alkire and Col. Jan Laitos scholarships are announced. These honors are among the most important scholarships awarded by the Environmental and Natural Resources Law & Policy Graduate Program.



The final round of the Daniel S. Hoffman Trial Advocacy Competition was a magnificent demonstration of skilled trial advocacy. Congratulations to this year’s winners and other top performers in the Daniel S. Hoffman Trial Advocacy Competition:
