A note for Dan Hoffman’s family
Although I never met Dean Hoffman, I know what he meant to DU and to the Denver legal community. I was fortunate, this summer, to be included in a group of law school faculty who, at Dan’s suggestion, would meet and brainstorm about an Advanced Civil Procedure class that he intended to teach in the spring semester. Dan’s emails to me about the course were filled with great ideas and sheer enthusiasm about teaching. He was complimentary and thoughtful. I was really looking forward to getting to know him and learning from him. Unfortunately, our first meeting was to take place the very week that Dan became ill, and I deeply regret that I never had a chance to work with him.
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. Dan’s legacy truly lives on at the law school through his good work and generosity of spirit.
