Faculty Profile
Penny Bryan
Former Associate Dean and Professor
Professor 1988-2009
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs 2006-2009
Penelope Bryan taught entry and upper level courses in civil procedure and family law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Bryan’s master’s degree in sociology facilitated integration of a sociological perspective into her courses and scholarship, a strong tradition at the University of Denver. In 2005, she published a book with the American Psychological Association that uses sociological research and theory to justify procedural reforms that promised to mitigate the dysfunctional results produced by the current family law system. Penny has four children, two of whom have graduated from the University of Denver law school.
