First Presidential Debate of the 2012 Election hosted by the University of Denver

On October 3rd the University of Denver hosted the first presidential debate of the 2012 Election. President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney debated domestic policy. The debate was the first in a series of presidential debates. The event was a culmination of a year full calendar of events, a festive culture and smooth operations. In the months and weeks leading up the debate, the University hosted more than 100 related events—everything from lectures to film screenings. More than 25,000 people attended these events. The debate itself was watched by 67 million viewers. PBS’s Jim Lehrer moderated.
