Moot Court teams take top honors; ABA team advances to national finals
February 19, 2010
Congratulations to our ABA National Trial Team: Nicole Quintana; Christopher Brown; Tricia Laylock; Garrik Storgaard; Isabel Lenuzza; Erika Reuer; and coach, David Schott! Their championship performance this past weekend at the American Bar Association (ABA) Regional Tournament (hosted by the University of Tulsa School of Law) was nothing short of spectacular. For the second time in ten years, this team will compete in the ABA National Finals, which are being held this year in Dallas, Texas, from March 24th to March 28th, 2010.
Congratulations too to the DU Jessup international Moot Court Team, consisting of Ruby Thapliya (Captain), Molly McNab, Megan Matthews, Anjali Nanda (of counsel), Megan Sheffer, and their coach, John Powell, JD’88. This past weekend, the Jessup team competed in this year’s regional competition in Houston, finishing in the top 4 (out of 24 schools), including Tulane, Ohio State, and University of Indiana at Indianapolis. DU Law placed second in memorials, and Ruby Thapliya, the team captain, was the fifth overall oralist.
And last but certainly not least—the DU moot court team recently beat CU Law in the Hogan & Hartson Cup, and brought the cup back to Denver! Way to go!
