See below for possible solutions if you receive one of the following error messages:

Sorry, the information you submitted was invalid. Please try again.

  • Try using a different form of your name (i.e. James instead of Jim).
  • You may not be in our system. If you are a current member of the DU community, call the Circulation Desk at 303-871-6188 and ask to be added.

403 Forbidden. You are not permitted to access this database.

  • Check the list of databases to see if you are allowed access. For example, law alumni cannot access some databases. The icons in the left column show who is allowed.
  • If you can’t figure out why you aren’t able to connect, call the Reference Desk at 303-871-6206 or via e-mail.

Your patron privileges have expired.

  • You are no longer a current member of the DU community.
  • Check the list of databases to see if you are allowed access. For example, law alumni cannot access some databases. The icons in the left column show who is allowed.
  • If you are still a current member of the DU community, call the Circulation Desk at 303-871-6188.

Not even seeing the Patron Verification screen

  • If you go directly to the database’s website (i.e. Hein, BNA, Wilson) from off-campus, you will not be able to get in. You should see this login screen. If you don’t, you are probably using a URL not meant for off-campus use. Go to the list of databases and connect from there to get the correct URL.
