See below for possible solutions if you receive one of the following error messages:

Sorry, the information you submitted was invalid. Please try again.

  • Try using a different form of your name (i.e. James instead of Jim).
  • You may not be in our system. If you are a current member of the DU community, call the Circulation Desk at 303-871-6188 for assistance.

403 Forbidden. You are not permitted to access this database.

  • Check the list of databases to see if you are allowed access. For example, law alumni cannot access some subscription databases.
  • If you can’t figure out why you aren’t able to connect, call the Reference Desk at 303-871-6206 or via e-mail.

Your patron privileges have expired.

  • You are no longer a current member of the DU community.
  • Check the list of databases to see if you are allowed access. For example, law alumni cannot access some subscription databases.
  • If you are still a current member of the DU community, call the Circulation Desk at 303-871-6188.

Not even seeing the Patron Verification screen

  • If you go directly to the database’s website (i.e. Hein, BNA, Wilson) from off-campus, you will not be able to get in. In order to access databases and online resources from home, you must use the special proxy links to the resources provided on the law library’s website. You can find these links by searching the library catalog or by using the A-Z Database Guide. When you click on a link to a database, or other resource that requires user verification, you will be prompted to enter your DU ID and Pioneer Password.
