Printers
The DUnet printers on the second floor are located next to the elevator. On the first and third floors they are located in the copy rooms in the northeast corner of the library. The color printer is on the third floor, in the Adaptive Technology Room next to the elevator.
In order to print to the DUnet printers, laptop users will need to install software. The software can be downloaded from this page.
When you print, a popup box will appear prompting for your name. Instructions for double sided printing are available here. When finished printing, go to the print station and swipe your Pioneer or copy card. A list of all print jobs in the queue will appear. The jobs will be listed by job name, owner, and date/time printed. Select your job and touch Print. This will debit your card 7 cents per page. You should then touch Log Off to prevent others from using your account. If you don’t log off, the print station will automatically time out after six seconds and return to the opening screen. Jobs are automatically purged after sitting idle for two hours within the print queues.
There is some redundancy built into the system as print jobs are sent to all the printers in the library. So, if one printer happens to be down, you can print on another floor.
The DUnet print system is the same system that the rest of campus uses. If you do not have a Pioneer Card, you can buy copy cards at the Circulation Desk on level 2. The cards can be used for copiers and printers all over campus. Users can add value to their copy or Pioneer card using cash at the VTS machine in Penrose Library or at the Pioneer Office in Driscoll. Value can also be added to Pioneer cards via credit card on the Pioneer Card website.
Note regarding frames: Web pages containing frames may be sent to the queue as multiple print jobs. If this happens, you may choose to only print the jobs containing content, and leave the empty frames (often one page jobs) in the queue.
