Goal 2: Comprehension
Comprehension goes beyond remembering material and implies an understanding of the process of reordering and interpreting the material and to relate it to what you already know. Comprehension is similar to knowledge and recall in that the concept to be recalled is identified by the professor (lecture, question, problem, exam item). But now you have to change or manipulate the concept to some form of communication that is more familiar to you.
When you can define a principle, process or pattern in the law or brief a case and write the holding or explain the relationship between two identified concepts — all in your own words — you are showing comprehension.
