Many events now need to be approved through the Office of Risk Management and the University Counsel’s office. Only the Dean has the authority to sign contracts on behalf of the student groups, all of which are deemed affiliates of the university. All contracts must be reviewed and approved by the University Counsel’s office. If you are using an external vendor or having your event at a location outside of the law school, the vendor must provide the University with a copy of their general liability insurance and workmen’s comp. form with the “The Colorado Seminary, with owns and operates the University of Denver and its Sturm College of Law” named as “additional insured.” The University requires a certificate of insurance in minimum amounts of $1 Million per occurrence; $2 million aggregate for general liability. If you are co-sponsoring an event with a third part organization we will also need the above insurance and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regardless of the exchange of consideration. Please see this link to complete a contract form (end of page) or contact Mike Latimer at ext. 16130 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for a draft MOU and insurance information.
