David Loomis, Environmental Planner for the U.S. Forest Service

David Loomis, an environmental planner for the U.S. Forest Service’s Rocky Mountain Region, will talk about “The National Environmental Policy Act: A Practitioner’s Perspective” on Thursday, September 8, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in room 270 at the Sturm College of Law.

The noontime presentation is the first in the Environmental and Natural Resources Law & Policy guest speakers series that will run throughout the entire academic year. All interested students are welcome to attend. Food will be provided.

Mr. Loomis provides advice, guidance, and training to the 11 National Forests in the Region. He also supervises an externship for Denver Law students for the Region’s strategic planning staff. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master of Science in Land Use Planning Policy. He is a regular guest lecturer on NEPA issues at Colorado State University.

This year’s featured speaker is an alumnus of the Sturm College of Law, Mr. Gilbert Porter. Mr. Porter is a partner at Haynes and Boone, one of America’s largest law firms.
