Natural Disaster Fundraiser
October 11-13, The Forum
In light of all the recent natural disasters, PILG is hosting a fundraiser. Please stop by between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm and donate to relief efforts in Puerto Rico by purchasing some delicious baked goods! All proceeds going directly to hurricane relief. If you’re not hungry, make a donation at one of the kiosks to one of the following websites:
♣ One America Appeal https://www.oneamericaappeal.org
The One America Appeal was launched by all five living former American Presidents to encourage their fellow citizens to support recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey (Texas), and has been expanded to include areas most affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria (Florida and Puerto Rico/U.S. Virgin Islands). 100 cents out of every dollar donated goes to hurricane recovery. All monies collected will be distributed immediately to the designated recovery funds. All donations are also tax-deductible.
You may choose to donate to all hurricane relief efforts or only one specific area.
♣ Best Friends Animal Society https://bestfriends.org/
Best Friends’ disaster response team is deploying to Texas to rescue stranded animals, deliver supplies to hard-hit shelters, transport displaced shelter pets and support emergency sheltering efforts and helping to reunite families with lost pets of Hurricane Irma in Florida.
Donations will be spent on recovery efforts in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey or Irma, helping reunite pets with families, connecting animals turned into shelters with new homes, and helping the Houston area rescue groups shelters recover and rebuild and assisting Florida’s rescues and shelters in reestablishing their operations.
♣ Hispanic Federation https://hispanicfederation.org
Hispanic Federation launched the UNIDOS Disaster Relief Fund to help meet hurricane-related needs and recovery in Puerto Rico. 100% of your donation to UNIDOS goes to help children and families recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
♣ United for Puerto Rico http://unidosporpuertorico.com/en/
United for Puerto Rico is an initiative brought forth by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló, in collaboration with the private sector, with the purpose of providing aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the passage of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María. 100% of the proceeds will go to helping the victims affected by these natural disasters in Puerto Rico.
♣ Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund https://connect.clickandpledge.com/w/Form/cb4a3c78-5694-4324-bead-42c8ad94c1bf
This fund is governed by grassroots organizations in Puerto Rico. One hundred percent of monies raised will be used to support immediate relief, recovery, and equitable rebuilding in Puerto Rico for the communities hit hardest by the storm.
