CLR - Case Law Research I

Case law research is an integral part of research, but when getting started it is important to learn the hierarchy and structure of the legal system, as well as how cases are laid out. This class will introduce digests, headnotes, and key numbers to help students conceptualize legal issues properly.

Manos Unidas Earthquake Relief Fundraiser

Event will take place Monday 10/02/17- Thursday 10/05/17 from 12p.m.-2 p.m. on Student Street. LLSA & IRAC are raising funds for Manos Unidas, a non-profit 503 © organization whose goal is to provide immediate relief to the population affected by the earthquake in Mexico on 9/19/17.

Let's Talk: Counseling for Students Every Thursday

In collaboration with DU’s Health and Counseling Center, Student Affairs is offering Denver Law students in all degree programs the opportunity to drop in to speak with an on-call counselor, every Thursday this semester.


Sessions will be held in the Reflection Room (314) from 11:45 to 1:15. Signing up is not required. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Veterans Advocacy Project Information Session

Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location: Law 125

The VAP pairs individual Veterans with teams of Colorado attorneys and Denver Law students. These teams work primarily on benefit disability compensation cases at the regional level and up to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Washington DC. The teams also work on discharge upgrade cases. Students earn 3 field credits plus take a 3 credit graded seminar focusing on issues related to handling these types of cases.
If you are interested in participating in the VAP in the spring semester, please plan to attend this information session on October 5th at noon in Room 125.

National Lawyers Guild DU Law Student Chapter Introductory Meeting

Veterans Advocacy Project Information Session

Location: Law 125

Come learn about the Veterans Advocacy Project, a 6 credit clinical experience in which students work with Veterans on their VA Benefits and Discharge Upgrade Applications. In the VAP, students work directly with clients on intake and counseling and participate in the VA administrative process from the VA Regional Office to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Washington DC.
