Clarence Darrow: A One-Man Play by: David W. Rentiels

The Parker Arts Council and Cafe La Papa are pleased to present: Clarence Darrow: A One-Man Play, written by David W. Rentiels and performed by former mayor of Parker David Casiano, will open this Saturday, September 28th at 6:00pm at Deep Space in Parker,CO. Tickets are $7.50 and may be purchased online at parkerartscouncil.org or at the door.

The play brings Darrow “back to life” and delves into his life as a lawyer, social justice activist, and noted member of the American Civil Liberties Union. Darrow is most known for his defense of Leopold and Loeb and John T. Scopes in the Scopes “Monkey” Trial.

Other Dates include:

Saturday, October 5th at 6:00pm $7.50 each Saturday, October 12th at 6:00pm $7.50 each Saturday, October 19th at 6:00pm $7.50 each

All performances will be held at Deep Space ~ 11020 S. Pikes Peak Dr. Parker, CO 80134

JD Fall Named Scholarship Application Deadline

The JD Fall Scholarship Application is now available. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm on October 15th.

Scholarship requirements are determined by each donor. Read through the scholarship descriptions to see if you qualify. Awards amounts vary but range from $1,500 to $7,500. These are 1-year awards. Should you receive an award, you will be notified later this semester and the award will be applied to the spring term.

Public Interest Loan Repayment and Forgiveness

Topics covered include: Income Based Repayment, the new “Pay as You Earn” program, Denver Law’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Updating Your Legal Research

Your research is not complete until you ensure your authorities are current law. This class will show you how to use citators (Lexis’ Shepard’s, Westlaw’s KeyCite, and Bloomberg Law’s B-Cite) to check for currentness, interpret the different symbols used, and how these tools are used as an integral part of the research process.
