Be the Cop: Would You Use Deadly Force?

Join Professor Jack Kress, Director of The Ethics and Justice Center, for an educational and interactive demonstration on police use of deadly force. You will yourself participate directly in several video scenarios where you will decide, were you the police officer on the scene, whether or when or how you would use a gun. Commentary by Prof. Ian Farrell.

Statutory Research II

Now that you have an understanding of the organization and structure of statutes from Statutory Research I, this class will explore the challenges of researching statutes online. This class will focus on learning tools for researching statutes on the major legal research databases.

Colorado Attorney General's Office Info Session

Attorneys from the Colorado Attorney General’s Office will be here to talk to students about the Attorney General’s Post Graduate Fellowship Program and its Spring/Fall/Summer Externship opportunities. This will be a great program for students at all levels to attend as we will be discussing opportunities for every level of law student and recent graduate. Speakers for this program are: Noah Patterson, Diana Black, Julie Selsberg, and Elaine Wizzard. Food will be served.

Crimson Classic 5k at DU

Location: Ritchie Wellness Center South Entrance

Save the date: Thursday, September 26th 4:30pm start time. This free event for faculty, staff, & students will be on campus and provide opportunities to run, jog, or walk a 1.5 mile course or 5k loop. More details coming soon!

5k Training Details: Wear your workout gear and lace up your sneakers! Join Provost Gregg Kvistad and Director of Human Resources Amy King for this weekly workout preparing you for the upcoming Crimson Classic 5K on Sept. 26.

Training sessions begin Thursday, August 22 – September 19 and are open to faculty and staff of all ability levels – Walkers are welcome! This will be an organized workout led by certified personal trainers from the Coors Fitness Center.

Meet at the Ritchie Center south entrance at 5 p.m., dressed and ready to go. Please RSVP (with your level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) to Katie Dunker so we can anticipate the number of attendees each week.
