The Office of Student Affairs is proud to introduce “Wellness Thursdays,” as part of the new SCOL Wellness Initiative. Enjoy listening to guest speakers from the Colorado community as they share invaluable information about how you can improve and maintain your overall health and well-being while in law school and in your professional careers. Join Professor Debra Austin on September 5th from 12:00pm – 1:00pm for the inaugural Wellness Thursday presentation titled, “Boost Your Brain Power – How to Enhance your Cognitive Fitness.” Examine how companies like Google, Whole Foods, and Cisco are using work-life balance programs to promote cognitive health and boost employee productivity. Professor Austin will explain the neurobiological reasons for why such programs enhance individual performance and will give you the tools to improve your own brain power and cognitive fitness. Then stay tuned for future announcements about coming attractions in the SCOL Wellness Initiative, including the launching of a new Wellness Student Organization (name to be determined), in-house yoga sessions, mindfulness classes, and the dedication of a new meditation room in our law building!
