DU Lights the Night - Support Energy Justice in Africa and the Navajo Nation

Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 6:00pm - 8:00pm

You’re invited to an evening in support of energy justice in Africa and the Navajo Nation. Join us at the Sturm College of Law to learn about Elephant Energy’s efforts to eradicate energy poverty in Namibia, Zambia and the Navajo Nation.

1.3 billion people around the world do not have access to electricity. Lack of access to energy remains one of the key factors stifling development with off-grid communities forced to spend up to 20% of their income on expensive energy options. Elephant Energy combines the breakthrough potential of solar technology with a village-based sales model to deliver energy to poor households, resulting in money savings, improved quality of life, and conservation of natural resources.

The event is free and donations are optional but appreciated. All donations will receive a minimum 30% match from www.globalgiving.org. Cash and check will be accepted at the event.
